TL;DR / At a Glance Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has re-opened the online application window for 14 posts of Deputy Director in the Bihar Fire Service (Home Department – Police Branch). Advertisement No. 05/2026 was originally issued in January 2026, but applications were re-invited in late July due to insufficient response. The fresh window runs from 2/3 August 2026 to 15 August 2026. This is a senior-level post equivalent to Senior Deputy Superintendent of Police, carrying Pay Level-11. Only experienced fire-service professionals with specific technical qualifications and at least 12 years of relevant service need apply. Who Should Apply & Career Scope This recruitment targets mid-to-senior professionals already working in fire services, preferably with hands-on experience in operational, supervisory or training roles. The post of Deputy Director sits at a responsible level within the Bihar Fire Service hierarchy. Officers selected will handle divisional-level fire safety operations, supervision of stations, training, emergency response coordination, and administrative duties across the state. It offers the security and prestige of a state government Group-A equivalent cadre post, structured promotions, and the chance to contribute directly to public safety infrastructure in Bihar.
