Current Affairs Practice Question Bank — High-Frequency Topics

Exam Target: SBI Specialist Officer (SBI SO)

A practice-question-oriented companion to the Current Affairs digest, focused on the recurring question FORMATS exams actually use rather than a flat list of facts.

1. Appointments & Awards — Question Pattern

Exams typically ask "Who has been appointed as ___" or "Who has won the ___ award" rather than asking you to recall an appointee unprompted — so the preparation priority is: for every major appointment/award in your digest, be able to recognize the CORRECT name among 4 similar-sounding distractor names, not just recall it cold. Cross-check surname spellings, since distractor options often use a real person with a similar-sounding name from an unrelated field.

2. Government Schemes — Question Pattern

Scheme questions usually test ONE specific attribute per question: launching ministry, launch year, target beneficiary count, or budget outlay — rarely all four at once. Build a simple 4-column mental table (Scheme | Ministry | Year | Key Number) for every scheme in your digest rather than reading paragraph summaries, since that is the exact retrieval format the question asks for.

3. Summits & International Events — Question Pattern

Distinguish between the HOST country/city and the ORGANIZING body — a very common distractor swaps these two. Also note the summit's edition number (e.g., "18th G20 Summit") since exams frequently ask for the numeric edition rather than just the year.

4. Sports Current Affairs — Question Pattern

Prioritize: (a) the most recent major tournament's champion/runner-up in each major sport, (b) any new national/world record set in the last 6 months, (c) India-specific medal counts at major multi-sport events (Olympics, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games) since these are asked far more often than a single athlete's personal biography.
