Cabinet Clears Tougher Anti-Paper Leak Bill (Public Examinations Amendment)

BHAVYA Rasayan Scheme – ₹3,030 Crore for Three Chemical Parks

Union Cabinet approved the Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana Rasayan (BHAVYA Rasayan) scheme announced in Budget 2026-27, to build three dedicated chemical parks.

Total outlay ₹3,030 crore (₹3,000 crore common infrastructure + ₹30 crore administrative) over FY 2026-27 to 2030-31.
Each park needs a minimum 2,000 acres (8 sq km) of contiguous, encumbrance-free land, developed by states via challenge route.
Central grant up to ₹1,000 crore per park; state must contribute a minimum ₹500 crore.
Plug-and-play facilities include CETP, TSDF, water supply, solvent recovery, steam network, pipelines, logistics and warehousing.

Project Kusha – Maiden Flight Test of Indigenous Long-Range SAM

DRDO successfully flight-tested Project Kusha, India's indigenous Long-Range Surface-to-Air Missile, on 23 July 2026 from APJ Abdul Kalam Island, Odisha.

Intercepted an electronic target simulating a high-speed, high-altitude aerial threat; missile, radars and command & control all developed indigenously.
Three planned variants: M1 (~150 km), M2 (~250 km), M3 (350–400 km) range.
Designed to neutralise fighter jets, cruise missiles, UAVs and large aircraft as part of a layered air-defence architecture alongside the S-400.
Cleared by the CCS in 2022; estimated cost for five squadrons is about ₹21,700 crore.

India's First Dengue Vaccine – Qdenga Approved by CDSCO

CDSCO granted marketing authorisation to Qdenga (TAK-003), a live attenuated tetravalent dengue vaccine by Takeda — India's first approved dengue vaccine.

Approved for individuals aged 4 to 60 years; two 0.5 ml doses given 3 months apart, subcutaneously.
Protects against all four dengue serotypes (DENV-1,2,3,4); no pre-vaccination antibody test required.
Already approved in 42+ countries with WHO prequalification, backed by global Phase-III trial data including Indian population.
Expected in the private market from 2027 onward, complementing vector-control measures under the National Dengue Control Programme.
